THE FUTURE ARTIFACT
The Future Artifact is the working studio of Cesar Cueva.
Based in Port Kembla, the studio is a place for developing ideas through making, testing and experimentation.
Work moves across jewellery, artworks, objects, exhibitions and gatherings, often shifting between disciplines as projects develop.
The outcome isn’t always known at the beginning.
A PRACTICE BUILT THROUGH DOING
Ideas are developed through making.
Materials are handled. Images are made. Objects are tested. Things are assembled, pulled apart and reconsidered.
Some experiments become finished works. Others become exhibitions, commissions or collaborations. Some simply lead to the next idea.
The studio is where that process happens.

The Future Artifact draws on more than twenty years of experience across jewellery, art, exhibitions, collecting, retail and cultural projects.
That experience now comes together in one working studio in Port Kembla.
